As you may already know, in Android there are a series of combinations of numbers, letters and symbols that give access to different functions and hidden tools of our phone. Even there are secret codes of MIUI 11 that allow us to obtain information about the battery, screen or network of our Xiaomi mobile phone but there are a series of codes that are valid for any phone that works with the Google operating system.
The “magic” code
The code in question identifies the status of the call forwarding service. When you enter it on the smartphone, it tells you if any of the connections or mobile services are being diverted. Obviously, if you have purposely diverted calls there is no problem, but if you have not, this screen may indicate that you have an app that is hacking your calls or data, that is, that they are spying on you.
All you need to do to find out is to dial the code * # 21 # in your mobile phone app (as if you were making a call) and then press the call key. Most codes will trigger a confirmation message once accepted and in this case the status of your connections is displayed.
Once you discover that your mobile is hacked, you can use two more codes that will give you more information about it:
* # 62 #
Tells the number that calls, data and messages are redirected to find out who is behind the diversion
** ## 002 #
Disables all call and message forwarding and redirection.
Beyond mobile hacking or espionage, you can also use a variation of this code to divert calls without having to enter the smartphone’s settings. Use the code ** 21 *
