The event is a celebration of comics, books, movies, TV, gaming, and other pop culture. The non-profit organization, Pop Culture Classroom , founded the convention in The inaugural convention was held June 15, 16, and 17 in with 27, people in attendance. In , attendance at the event exceeded ,, making it one of the largest fan conventions in the United States.

However I cosplayed as the Top again, met up with some other Rogues cosplayers and made some new friends, and had a great time. The con was held in both the North and South buildings of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre for the first time this year, which was problematic if there were things you wanted to see in both locations. The main con floor was in the South building, as were the smaller panels, but the non-comics autograph area and the larger panels were in the North. This meant going up and down multiple escalators in both directions and traveling between buildings, and was usually slow going through such large crowds. Many people complained about this, and it was probably my pet peeve as well.

During my stroll along the convention floor at FanExpo Canada last weekend in Toronto, I saw a young man fondle the breasts of a comic-book statue and dozens of ergonomic Anime mousepads, where your wrist would rest comfortably on the padded breasts of a cartoon vixen.

For four full days, fans will get a chance to line up, shop around and experience the sights, sounds, and smells of Toronto's top convention for gaming, comics, sci-fi, anime, horror, and, uh, sports? Looks like this year will be particularly special because Hobbystar , the creators of Fan Expo Canada , are now expanding their target market and including the wild world of professional sports. Not sure what brought that on. All I know is it's a field I don't play on wah-waaah , but I'm still excited to see what's in store.
